Legal
Terms
Last updated 13 August 2026
1. Who we are
HobbyCon New Zealand is operated by HobbyCon Limited (NZBN 9429053026484). These terms apply when you use hobbycon.co.nz and when you attend, vend at, volunteer at, or otherwise take part in a HobbyCon event.
2. Using this website
You may browse the site for personal, non-commercial use. Do not misuse the site (including scraping, attacking, or copying our branding). Event details, prices, and dates can change. We try to keep the site accurate, but we do not guarantee that every listing is complete or error-free.
3. Tickets
Tickets are sold through Humanitix (or another ticketing partner we name on the event page). Their checkout terms, fees, and refund rules apply to the purchase. A ticket is a licence to attend that event - it is not a guarantee of any particular vendor, guest, or activity. We may refuse entry or ask someone to leave if they breach venue rules or these terms, without a refund if the refusal is for misconduct.
4. At the show
- Follow staff, volunteer, and venue instructions.
- Treat other attendees, vendors, and crew with respect. Harassment, theft, and unsafe behaviour are not allowed.
- Bag checks or ticket scans may apply at the door.
- Trading between collectors is at your own risk. HobbyCon is not a party to private trades.
- Children remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian.
5. Vendors, volunteers, and media
Submitting an application is not a confirmed booking. We may accept, waitlist, or decline applications. If we offer you a stall, shift, or media pass, extra conditions may apply in that offer. You must have any licences or insurance the role requires.
6. Photos and filming
HobbyCon and authorised media may photograph or film the show, including attendees in public areas of the venue. We may use that material to promote HobbyCon. If you do not want to be featured, tell a staff member on the day and we will take reasonable steps to avoid close-up use of you.
7. Intellectual property
Site content, logos, and event artwork belong to HobbyCon Limited or our licensors. Pokémon, trading-card, and other brand names belong to their owners and are used only to describe the hobby. Third-party marks are not an endorsement unless we say so.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by New Zealand law (including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, where it applies), we are not liable for loss arising from using the website, delayed or cancelled events outside our reasonable control, or items lost or stolen at a show. Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot contract out of.
9. Changes and cancellation
We may change these terms by posting an update on this page. We may change, postpone, or cancel an event. Where we cancel and are responsible for the cancellation, ticket refunds are handled under the ticketing partner's policy or as we announce for that show.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. The New Zealand courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief elsewhere to protect our brand.
